Abstract
The article deals with the problem of lying children in their early teenage years. It presents the authors' method, allowing to reveal the nature of the relationship to two types of lies (by omission and distortion), and four motifs (a lie for a selfish purpose; a lie to avoid criticism; a lie for the sake of making the referent group; false for another). The author discusses the results of comparative studies of attitudes of girls and boys in their early teenage years to different types and motives lie. In particular the actual data shows the gender specificity of this relationship of younger adolescents.
