Abstract
The article is devoted to the socio-economic underpinnings of social protection of the population.. It addresses the basic directions of ensuring the effectiveness of the social protection Institute. An important point of the article is a section that describes the need to build a new socio-economic society development concept includes a strong social protection and a strong social policy based on the systematization of inter-institutional relations, development of insurance systems, poor grant, guarantees of employment law, providing real opportunities for education and health care. In the present article shall be justified in assuming that socio-economic basis of the social welfare system built primarily on the optimal better redistribution of State budget in favour of the special hardship category of the population. In this article we would like to tell about these mechanisms and their specific tasks to achieve the greatest economic efficiency in the activities of the Institute for social protection of the population in conditions of market economy.
