Recently Lewis, Galyautdinova, Safina, and Filimonova [1] have provided a succinct overview of the Hardy question on religious experience [2], a brief open-ended question that measures religious experience, in order to contextualise their work providing a Bashkirian and Russian translation of the Hardy question on religious experience. The addition of a Bashkirian and Russian translation of the Hardy question on religious experience to the literature on the psychology of religion in Bashkiria and Russia provides researchers with an additional instrument for consideration for use in their practice.

In order to supplement the work of Lewis et al. [1] the present aim was to provide an accessible version of the Bashkirian and Russian translation of the Hardy question on religious experience [2] published in a domestic Russian journal, such as Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy. The rationale for publishing in this journal which includes the option to provide both Russian and English language versions of the paper, is that the translated measure is likely to have greater visibility in the Russian internet search engines and scientific databases than that of Lewis et al. [1].

Within the appendix are copies of both the original English version of the Hardy question on religious experience [2], and the Bashkirian and Russian translations of the Hardy question on religious experience [1], along with the guidance notes in English, Russian, and Bashkirian on the administration of the instrument.

It is hoped that Bashkirian – and Russian- speaking colleagues may welcome the further visibility of the Russian translation of the Hardy question on religious experience [1].
