Abstract
The purpose of the article was to classify altered states of consciousness caused by traditional Eastern practices as a healthy or pathological phenomenon with a help of pathopsychological instruments. A pilot study of meditative qigong practitioners was conducted (n = 21). The study demonstrated positive dynamics of psychic functioning of the practitioners with fragments of organic syndrome and questionability of the qigong practice for those with schizophrenic spectrum disorders. The need for further research is shown.
