Abstract
The general trends of thematic and methodological diversity in cross-cultural psychological research in Japan becomes clear from the analysis of the cross-cultural psychological publications, primarily in two psychological fields such as social psychology and developmental psychology. Many Japanese cross-cultural psychological researches dealt with various aspects of values, social attitudes, national stereotypes, interpersonal values, preferred life styles with the use of the concepts of way of life, religious attitudes, attitudes to gender roles, etc.
