Recently Lewis, Khukhrin, Musharraf, and Lewis have provided a succinct overview [1] of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale [2], a brief measure of positive affect, in order to contextualise their work providing a Russian translation of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale. The addition of a Russian translation of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale to the literature on positive psychology in Russian provides to both researchers and clinicians an additional instrument for consideration for use in their practice.
In order to supplement the work of Lewis et al. [1] the present aim was to provide an accessible version of the Russian translation of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale published in a domestic Russian journal, such as Psychology, Sociology and Education. Also it allows the translated measure to have greater visibility in the Russian internet search engines and scientific databases.
Within the appendix are copies of both the original English version of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale [2], and the Russian translation of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale [1], along with the guidance notes in both English and Russian on the administration and scoring of the instrument.
It is hoped that Russian-speaking colleagues may welcome the further visibility of the Russian translation of the Short Depression-Happiness Scale [1].
