Abstract
The feature scrutinizes interrelations between sociology and regional studies. Originally sociology has been evoked to perform a major part in establishing a valid regional science. Thanks to sociology the regional studies have been doomed to become more holistic than the regional economy and to appear a virtually new science targeting at scrutinizing the operationalized cultural and value variables which would find their places within the regional studies’ models. However, actual interrelations between sociology and regional studies have not met expectations of the regional studies’ founders.
