Abstract
The study presents an analysis of the diary Gilbert Romm - French scientist and public figure of the Great French Revolution. Being an educator Paul Stroganov, Romm made several trips to Russia. During his travels, he regularly made records that contain unique information about vari-ous aspects of Russian life.
