Abstract
The article examines the evolution of attitudes to the problem of consciousness manipulation beginning from the 4th century B.C. that the problem is the manipulation of consciousness, the possibility of hidden impacts from ancient times attracted the attention of philosophers and the General public, which may indicate that this problem is one of the main problems of the existence and development of society
