Recently Lewis, Khukhrin, Musharraf, and Lewis [1] have provided a succinct overview of the Psychological Functioning Inventory [2], a brief measure of psychological functioning, in order to contextualise their work providing a Russian translation of the Psychological Functioning Inventory. The addition of a Russian translation of the Psychological Functioning Inventory to the literature on positive psychology in Russian provides to both researchers and clinicians an additional instrument for consideration for use in their practice.
In order to supplement the work of Lewis et al. [1] the present aim was to provide an accessible version of the Russian translation of the Psychological Functioning Inventory [2] published in a domestic Russian journal, such as Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy. The rationale of publishing in this journal which includes the option to provide both Russian and English language versions of the paper is that the translated measure is likely to have greater visibility in the Russian internet search engines and scientific databases than that of Lewis et al. [1].
Within the appendix are copies of both the original English version of the Psychological Functioning Inventory [2], and the Russian translation of the Psychological Functioning Inventory [1], along with the guidance notes in both English and Russian on the administration and scoring of the instrument.
It is hoped that Russian-speaking colleagues may welcome the further visibility of the Russian translation of the Psychological Functioning Inventory [1].
